Shopify for online courses: Why it's not just for physical products
Compartir
Shopify isn't just for selling t-shirts. With its SEO, CMS, marketing, security, and speed, it's an ideal sales channel for courses, workshops, and experiences . With ANISKA, we set up a complete operation to sell training (both in-person and online) and automate communication before, during, and after the course.
ANISKA, the project
ANISKA is a company dedicated to floral design for weddings and events in Miami and floristry classes. The goal was for the shop not only to collect payment, but also to support the student with timely reminders, clear information, and post-course follow-up.

What did we do?
- We turned each course into a "dated product" within Shopify.
- We orchestrate reminders so that the student receives the correct information at the right time (before the course, on the same day and afterwards).
- We take care of the experience : location, map, what to bring, materials… all delivered frictionlessly by email.
- We ask for feedback with one click : after the course, the student receives a direct link to leave their review.
- We standardize schedules to avoid zone confusion and ensure that messages go out at the right time.
- We reduce duplicates so that each student receives only what they should, when they should.
Results that matter
- ✅ Fewer no-shows: − 41 % thanks to clear and timely reminders.
- ✅ More reviews: + 82 % of reviews received after automating the request.
- ✅ Operational savings: − 60 % manual time in repetitive communications.
The student experience (how it is lived)
- Easy purchase on a fast, secure and clear page.
- Before the course: email with date, location, map and recommendations.
- The same day: a friendly reminder with the final details.
- Next: thank you and review link ; later, suggestions for further training.

What's next?
In addition to using Shopify as a sales engine for courses and workshops, we also use it to sell physical products from the ANISKA catalog. This mix makes perfect sense because it's all managed within the platform : a single checkout, offers grouped by course, related recommendations, and unified metrics.
With the foundation in place, it's easy to scale into memberships , course bundles , downloadable content , and ongoing training programs . Shopify provides the commerce engine; you define the experience.
